Visiting this website
This notice covers the public Proteomics CoPYlot website. It does not describe processing within the downloaded application, self-hosted viewers or optional connected AI services.
The site consists of static pages served from a self-operated server. Delivering them requires connection data, including your IP address, request time and address, browser information and, where provided, the referring page. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: the legitimate interest in providing a secure, functioning website. Pages cannot be delivered without the necessary connection data.
Access logging is disabled in the website container. Technical errors may be logged for troubleshooting and may include connection data. Container logs are limited to two files of approximately 5 MB each; rotation overwrites older entries. No fixed deletion period in days is configured.
No visitor tracking
The website uses no analytics or advertising trackers, visitor profiles, own cookies or browser-storage entries. There are no accounts, forms or comments. Fonts, images and videos are served locally. Navigation, interactive displays and the suggested download for your operating system run in your browser without sending those choices to the website operator.
Cloudflare
Cloudflare sits in front of the server to deliver and protect the connection. Cloudflare, Inc. (USA) processes IP addresses and technical connection and security data. Our use of this service is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Cloudflare may perform security checks using necessary cookies and receive browser reports about connection errors. Disabling local access logs does not prevent Cloudflare’s processing.
Processing outside the EU/EEA is possible. Cloudflare describes its transfer safeguards, including EU Standard Contractual Clauses, in its Data Processing Addendum. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for information on processing, retention and rights.
Email and external links
If you email us, your address, message and any voluntary information are processed to handle your enquiry, including by the email providers involved (GMX or the University of Jena). The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, or Article 6(1)(b) for contract-related enquiries. Messages are retained for as long as needed to handle the enquiry, meet legal obligations or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Downloads, source code and documentation include links to GitHub. Following an external link connects your browser to that provider, whose privacy notice then applies. GitHub content is not embedded in this website.
Your rights
Subject to the applicable legal conditions, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may object to processing based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation. Use the contact details in the Impressum to exercise your rights. The website operator does not carry out automated decision-making, including profiling.
You may lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, including the Thuringian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
